How Much Does It Cost To Transport A Knitting Machine?

Apr 20, 2026 Leave a message

The cost of transporting a knitting machine is affected by multiple factors, including weight, distance, mode of transport, and packaging requirements. There is no fixed price; it usually needs to be calculated based on the specific transport plan.

Main factors affecting transport costs:

Equipment weight and volume: Knitting machines are precision machinery, typically weighing anywhere from tens to hundreds of kilograms. Freight rates are usually calculated per ton-kilometer or per truckload. For example, road transport costs between 300-800 yuan per ton, depending on the distance and vehicle type.

Transport distance: Short-distance transport (within 100 kilometers) costs approximately 200-300 yuan per ton; long-distance transport (over 500 kilometers) may rise to 500-800 yuan or even higher.

Transportation methods:

Road transport: High flexibility, door-to-door delivery available, suitable for short to medium distances, but relatively high cost.

Rail/Waterway Transportation: Suitable for long distances and large volumes, with lower costs, as low as 100-300 RMB per ton, but limited by routes and loading/unloading conditions.

Packaging and Handling Requirements: Weaving machines require moisture-proof, shock-proof, and pressure-proof packaging. Custom-made wooden crates or reinforced cardboard boxes are typically needed, secured with foam. Professional packing services will incur additional packaging fees (e.g., reinforcement fees of approximately 1500 yen, equivalent to about 70 RMB).
